Buffs Compete At USA Junior Nationals

CLOVIS, Calif. — The University of Colorado track and field team had a couple of Buffs competing last weekend at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships in Clovis, California.
Sophomore Duane McClurkin Jr. had the top finish for the Buffs, finishing fourth in the 200-meter finals, just missing a spot on the roster for the world junior championships. McClurkin raced to a time of 21.35 in the finals after clocking 21.12 in the prelims, where he placed sixth.Â
The women were represented by Delaney Hall, a sophomore, who recorded a toss of 122-9 in the javelin for an 11th place finish.
The 2016 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials are July 1-10 in Eugene, Ore., and the Buffs will be well represented. Current athletes, Erin Clark and Ben Saarel, will be competing in the steeplechase and the 1,500, respectively. They will be joined by several former Buffs, including Olympians Jenny Simpson, Emma Coburn and Shalaya Kipp.
