Three Events For CU Sports Fans On The Horizon
July 13, 2016 | General
BOULDER — University of Colorado fans will have three opportunities to get closer to the program in the coming weeks with the 2016-17 athletic season fast approaching. Here is each in great detail:
Â
CU on the Links Golf. There is still room for a few foursomes in CU's third annual golf tournament to meet and socialize with athletic coaches and staff members as well as fellow avid Buffalo fans. Hosted by CU's home course, Colorado National Golf Club, the event is on Monday, July 25; registration, breakfast and practice (range, putting green) open at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. There are several price options for those interested to participate, which can be found at www.cubuffs.com/CUontheLinks.Â
Â
Colorado Football Women's Clinic. The annual clinic this year will feature a "game day" theme, as it will provide an insider's look at what the CU football student-athletes do to prepare for each game. This event will take the attendees step-by-step through the new Champions Center with glimpses into pregame nutrition, game film, sports medicine, strength and conditioning and more. The highlight will be the exclusive opportunity to run into Folsom Field behind Ralphie, CU's live buffalo mascot, and take part in on-field drills and training.Â
Â
The entire event, open to women 19 years and older, has a cost of just $35, which also includes a special gift, game day snacks and beverages and a $10 donation to the Buffalo Belles/Martha Johnson Scholarship Endowment.
Â
Annual Football Kickoff Luncheon. The 28th annual Boulder Chamber Colorado Football Kickoff Luncheon is set for Friday, August 19 in Balch Fieldhouse. Doors will open at 11:15 a.m. when a buffet lunch will begin to be served, with the program to begin at Noon; hosted by KOA's Mark Johnson, the play-by-play voice of the Buffaloes, and former head coach Gary Barnett who is the new color analyst, special guests will include CU athletic director Rick George, head football coach Mike MacIntyre and his coaching staff, the entire Colorado football team and Boulder Chamber president John Tayer.
Â
The cost is $35 per person, with a table of 10 costing $350; a table sponsorship is $1,000 and includes the 10 guest tickets.
