Morris Finishes 19th in the 100-Meter Semifinals

EUGENE, Ore. — Joe Morris, a former sprinter at Colorado, ran a time of 10.19 in the semifinals of the 100-meter dash on Sunday at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials.

Morris' time placed fifth in the second of three sections and would not qualify him for the finals. Only eight runners advanced to the finals as the top two in each heat and the next two fastest times moved on to Sunday night's final. The Golden, Colo. native's time was 19^th overall.

The Olympic Trials continue through July 10. The Fourth of July will be a busy day for CU as three former (Emma Coburn, Shalaya Kipp and Aric Van Halen) and one current Buff (Erin Clark) will be racing the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
