Women's Golf Releases Spring Schedule
August 02, 2016 | Women's Golf
BOULDER – University of Colorado women's golf coach Anne Kelly announced the team's schedule for the spring 2017 season on Tuesday, which includes five stroke play tournaments and one match-play event.
Â
The Buffaloes tee off from the Bay Area to begin spring play as they are set to compete in the Peg Barnard Invitational, Feb. 11-12 in Stanford, Calif. Colorado is quite familiar with starting it's spring season in Stanford's event as it will mark the fourth consecutive year the team plays in the 36-hole tournament, which features one 18-hole round each day.
Â
Colorado then returns to California for its next two events. First up is the Bruin Wave Invitational in San Luis Obispo, Feb. 27-28 followed by the team's lone match-play event on March 13-14 in the Gifford Cup in Los Angeles.
Â
After about a week and a half off, the team leaves the mainland for Maui, Hawai'i to play in the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, March 27-29. The tournament will be the Buffs' second trip of the year to the Hawaiian Islands as they will play in Kona during the fall season, which was announced earlier this summer.
Â
The Buffs will co-host their annual Silverado Showdown with the University of Oregon, April 9-11 in Napa, Calif. before the postseason begins at the 2017 Pac-12 Championships, April 24-26 in Tucson, Ariz.
Â
The NCAA Regionals are scheduled for May 8-10 and the NCAA Championship Finals is May 19-24 at Rich Harvest Farms Golf Course in Sugar Grove, Ill.
  Â
Colorado finished its 2015-16 campaign ranked No. 29 in the country and tallied a program-record 12 top 10 finishes. The team also recorded a 75.25 stroke average, the second lowest in school history after reaching its third consecutive NCAA Regionals.
