Buffs Ranked 15th In All Three Polls
March 19, 2018 | Lacrosse
BOULDER — The Colorado lacrosse team saw little movement in the national rankings this week as the Buffs are rated 15th in all three polls.Â
Â
CU dropped one position from 14th to 15th in the Cascade/Inside Lacrosse media poll and stayed at 15th in the IWLCA and NIKE/US Lacrosse Magazine polls.
Â
The Buffs went 1-1 last weekend in their first Pac-12 road trip. They lost an overtime thriller (8-7) to then-No. 12 Southern California after senior Darby Kiernan tied the score up at 7-7 with eight second left in regulation. USC won the opening draw in overtime and scored in its first possession. CU rebounded nicely on Sunday with a decisive 18-2 victory against Arizona State in the first ever meeting between the two schools.Â
Â
The Pac-12 Conference has two other schools ranked in the polls this week. Southern California is ranked 12th in the media poll for its highest ranking (13th in the other two), while Stanford's best position is 18th in the media poll.
Â
Colorado will stay on the road this week for one contest against the Oregon Ducks in Eugene, Ore., on Friday, March 23. That game will start at 6 p.m. MT and will be televised on Pac-12 Network.Â
