No. 15 Buffs Wrap-Up First Half of Pac-12 Schedule At Oregon

BOULDER — The No. 15 Colorado Buffaloes lacrosse team will wrap-up the first half of Pac-12 Conference play this Friday, March 23, in Eugene, Ore. Opening draw against the Ducks is set for 5 p.m. PT/6 p.m. MT.

ABOUT THE BUFFS: Colorado is ranked 15th in the IWLCA, NIKE/USL Magazine and Cascade/Inside Lacrosse media polls. The Buffs are 6-3 this season and are second in the Pac-12 standings with a 3-1 record. They have won five of the last six games after starting the season 1-2. 
 
Darby Kiernan leads the team with 44 points this season, which is first in the Pac-12, fifth in the NCAA. She has earned 31 goals and 13 assists. The 31 goals is 12th in the nation, first in the Pac-12.  She is also fourth in the NCAA, first in the Pac-12, with 8.00 draw controls per game. Miranda Stinson is a close second for the Buffs with 37 points (21st in the NCAA, fourth in the Pac-12). Stinson has 29 goals this season (19th in the NCAA, third in the Pac-12) and has eight assists.
 
Defensively, Kelsie Garrison leads the team with 13 caused turnovers this season, as well as ground balls (25).  Julia Lisella earned the start in goal this season for the Buffs and has a 5-1 record. She has allowed 8.14 goals per game, which is fourth in the NCAA. Lisella has also earned a .589 save percentage, which ranks second in the NCAA.  Both of those marks are first in the Pac-12.
 
ABOUT OREGON: The Ducks are 4-3 this season and are fourth in the Pac-12 with a 2-2 record. Last weekend, Oregon defeated Arizona State 14-6 and suffered an overtime loss (9-8) to No. 12 Southern California.   
 
Shannon Williams leads the Ducks with 30 points, 21 of which are goals. She ranks first in the Pac-12, 18th in the NCAA, with a 0.714 free-position percentage. Jill Zubillaga also has 21 goals this season and two assists for 23 points. One other Duck, Mariah Gatti, has recorded 20 points this season. She has 19 goals and one assist. Cambi Cukar is the team's assists leader with 16. Her 2.29 assists per game leads the Pac-12 and is 13th in the NCAA.
 
Lexi Biller is averaging the second best draw control mark in the Pac-12, 10th in the NCAA, with 6.86 per game. Natalie Modly enters the game on Friday with a team-best nine caused turnovers and adds 11 ground balls. Brittany Read has spent 410:15 in goal this season. She has allowed 10.24 goals per game and has a .496 save percentage. She also leads the team in ground balls with 18.
 
THE SERIES: The Buffs own a 5-0 record against the Ducks, which includes a 2-0 record in Boulder, as well as a 2-0 record in Eugene, Ore. The two teams also faced off in the quarterfinal round of the MPSF Tournament in 2016, with the Buffs earning an 11-3 victory.
 
UP NEXT: The Buffs stay on the road for one game against Oregon on March 23, in Eugene, Ore.   
 
HOME GAME INFORMATION: All but one of Colorado's home games will be played at Kittredge Field.  Admission to all games at Kittredge is free, as is parking in Lot 416.  The only regular season game that will not be played at Kittredge is on April 8 against Arizona State.  That contest will be played at Prentup Field, the site of the 2018 Pac-12 Lacrosse Championships.  Tickets will be $5, while children 12 and under will be free.
 
THE KITT FIELD ADVANTAGE: The Buffs have done quite well at Kittredge Field since 2014, compiling a 28-5 record.  CU is currently in the middle of a 14-0 run at Kitt.  The Buffs won the last three home games in 2016 and did not drop a contest at Kitt in 2017 (7-0).  They are 4-0 at home this season. 
 
PAC-12 TOURNAMENT TICKET INFORMATION: Tickets for the Inaugural Pac-12 Women's Lacrosse Tournament, April 26-29, in Boulder, are now on sale.  Colorado will serve as the host for the first ever tournament.  The quarterfinal games will be played on Thursday, April 26, while the semifinals will be contested on Friday, April 27.  The championship game is set for Sunday, April 29.  All five games will be played at Prentup Field, the home of Colorado's soccer program. 
 
Fans can purchase an all-sessions pass that includes all five games, or a single-session pass for one day.  Tickets can be purchased online at CUBuffs.com or by calling 303-49-BUFFS.  Pricing for both options is listed below:

CLEAR BAG POLICY
In an effort to provide a safer environment for fans, the University of Colorado will continue its clear bag policy at the Prentup Field for all lacrosse and soccer games, which includes the Pac-12 Women's Lacrosse Tournament. 
               
Fans may bring one clear bag no larger than 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches, or a one-gallon reseal-able clear plastic storage bag, into the arena.  Fans will also be allowed one small clutch purse, no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.             
               
Bags that are not allowed into the CEC include backpacks, large purses, oversized tote bags, camera bags and binocular cases, diaper bags, fanny packs and printed plastic bags.
