No. 14 Buffs Set For Clash Against No. 25 Denver

BOULDER — The 14th-ranked Colorado Buffaloes will wrap-up a four-game road trip on Thursday, March 29, against the No. 25 Denver Pioneers at Peter Barton Stadium in Denver. The game is set for a 7 p.m. start.   Â

ABOUT THE BUFFS: Colorado is ranked 14th in the IWLCA poll and is 15th in the NIKE/USL Magazine and Cascade/Inside Lacrosse media polls. CU is 7-3 this season and is tied for first in the Pac-12 standings with a 4-1 record. The Buffs have won six of the last seven games after starting the season 1-2.

Darby Kiernan leads the team with 47 points this season, which is third in the Pac-12, 12th in the NCAA. She has earned 34 goals and 13 assists. The 34 goals is 15th in the nation, second in the Pac-12. She is also fourth in the NCAA, first in the Pac-12, with 8.40 draw controls per game. Miranda Stinson is a close second for the Buffs with 43 points (21st in the NCAA, fourth in the Pac-12). Stinson has 32 goals this season (24th in the NCAA, third in the Pac-12) and has 11 assists.

Kelsie Garrison leads the team with 14 caused turnovers this season, as well as ground balls (29). Julia Lisella has earned the start in goal this season for the Buffs and is 6-1. She has allowed 8.25 goals per game, which is sixth in the NCAA. Lisella has also earned a .572 save percentage, which ranks fourth in the NCAA. Both of those marks are first in the Pac-12.

ABOUT DENVER: The Pioneers are 5-3 this season, which includes a 1-1 record in Big East play. They are tied for 25th in the IWLCA Poll and are receiving votes in the media poll.Â

Julia Feiss leads DU with 25 points, which includes 22 goals. She ranks 18th in the NCAA in free-position percentage (0.692). Quintin Hoch-Bullen is second on the team with 21 points. She has 16 goals and five assists this season. A pair of Pioneers have 17 points this season. Eliza Radochonski has 11 goals and six assists, while Kendra Lanuza has seven goals and 10 assists.

Maddie Baum leads the team with 40 draw controls, while Molly Little is second with 29. In goal, Carson Gregg has a 5-2 record. She has allowed 9.71 goals per game and has a .469 save percentage.

THE SERIES: The series between Colorado and Denver is tied 2-2. The Pioneers took the first two meetings, but the Buffs have won the last two. The Buffs are 1-1 in Denver against the Pioneers.

THE KITT FIELD ADVANTAGE: The Buffs have done quite well at Kittredge Field since 2014, compiling a 28-5 record. CU is currently in the middle of a 14-0 run at Kitt. The Buffs won the last three home games in 2016 and did not drop a contest at Kitt in 2017 (7-0). They are 4-0 at home this season.Â

PAC-12 TOURNAMENT TICKET INFORMATION: Tickets for the Inaugural Pac-12 Women's Lacrosse Tournament, April 26-29, in Boulder, are now on sale. Colorado will serve as the host for the first ever tournament. The quarterfinal games will be played on Thursday, April 26, while the semifinals will be contested on Friday, April 27. The championship game is set for Sunday, April 29. All five games will be played at Prentup Field, the home of Colorado's soccer program.Â

In an effort to provide a safer environment for fans, the University of Colorado will continue its clear bag policy at the Prentup Field for all lacrosse and soccer games, which includes the Pac-12 Women's Lacrosse Tournament.Â

Fans may bring one clear bag no larger than 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches, or a one-gallon reseal-able clear plastic storage bag, into the arena. Fans will also be allowed one small clutch purse, no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.            Â

Bags that are not allowed into the CEC include backpacks, large purses, oversized tote bags, camera bags and binocular cases, diaper bags, fanny packs and printed plastic bags.Â
