Buffs Impress At 2018 Pro Timing Day

March 07, 2018 | Football

BOULDER – The University of Colorado football team conducted its annual Pro Timing Day Wednesday, featuring 16 former Buffaloes.  There were 47 scouts in attendance from 31 NFL teams (and one  CFL team) to watch 14 CU seniors, one underclassman and one athlete from the 2016 team.

Junior defensive back Isaiah Oliver participated in the majority of events but opted to defer to his NFL Combine numbers in the 40-yard dash of 4.50.

Other Buffs participating in Pro Timing Day included tailbacks Phillip Lindsay, Michael Adkins II and Tanner Grzesiek, wide receivers Bryce Bobo, Devin Ross and Shay Fields, offensive linemen Jeromy Irwin and Gerrad Kough, fullback/tight end/defensive lineman George Frazier, defensive linemen Leo Jackson III and Timothy Coleman, outside linebacker Derek McCartney and defensive backs Afolabi Laguda and Ryan Moeller. Placekicker Diego Gonzalez was unable to perform at the 2017 Pro Day due to his recovery from a torn Achilles earlier in the season.

The players began in the weight room, measuring their height, weight, hand size and wingspan. Most notably, George Frazier has slimmed down from his playing weight of 290 pounds to 258.

Next, the athletes participated in the vertical jump and bench press. Jeromy Irwin turned in a notable performance, leading all Buffs with 28 reps at the bench press (225 pounds), while Afolabi Laguda had the highest vertical jump at 36 inches.

Pro Day then moved into the Indoor Practice Facility to complete the broad jump, 40-yard dash, Pro Shuttle and L-Drill and participate in position drills.

Phillip Lindsay turned in the fastest 40-yard dash time of the day at 4.39.

The 2018 NFL Draft will take place April 26-28 in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium. This is the first draft to take place in an NFL stadium, and the first to be held in the state of Texas.
