2019-20 (Sr.): He played in six tournaments for the year (four fall, two spring), and logged a 73.65 stroke average for the season (20 total rounds; 11 played as an individual) … His had the fifth-best stroke norm on the team … Opened the season with a strong showing in Air Force’s Miranda Invitational, as he tied for 20th with an even-par 216 effort. A five-under 67 in the second round was his best 18-hole score in the fall and matched his career-high … He opened the spring with a tie for 47th in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate (221, +5) playing individually; he was designated scorer in CU’s last meet of the abbreviated spring season, tying for 60th in the Lamkin San Diego Classic (223, +7). He closed the Wyoming meet and opened the Lamkin with back-to-back even-par 72s … Averaged a solid 72.1 for seven opening rounds … Top finish was a tie for 12th in CU’s Les Fowler event (149, +9) … His 11 career eagles through the end of the season tied for the most by any player on the team … Had just 13 holes worse than bogey out of 360 in the fall (12 doubles, one quadruple).
2018-19 (Jr.): Saw action in seven tournaments, two as a designated scorer … Averaged 75.00 strokes per 19 rounds, with four of a possible six counting toward the CU team score; the other 13 he played as an individual … For the second time in his career (along with as a freshman), he won Colorado Mines’ Bob Writz Invitational in the spring, his 72-71—143 (-1) effort good for a three-stroke win over teammate John Paterson; it’s one of the tougher courses in the Denver Metro area and he’s tamed it twice … In capturing the win, he became the 13th player in school history to win two major tournaments (and the third two win the same event twice, joining Hale Irwin and Bobby Kalinowski, who won two conference titles each) … Tied for 36th in Air Force’s Miranda Invitational to open the year (220, +4) … Closed the fall with his best performance of four tournaments, tying for third in the Northern Colorado Invitational with his best single round score of 69 in the last round (141, +1).
2017-18 (Soph.): He had the sixth-best average on the team for the year with a 73.19 figure for 21 rounds … He was a designated scorer in two events, with four of six rounds counting toward CU’s team total … He had the fourth-best percentage of subpar holes at 18.3 percent (63 birdies, six eagles for 378 holes) … He had two of those eagles in the second round at Kansas State’s Bighorn Invitational (tying a school record) … Fared best in the second round, with a 72.0 average, which was fourth-best by a Buff … For his 15 rounds playing as an individual, his 72.73 average was second best in that competition … His top finish as a designated scorer for the team was a tie for 14th in CU’s own Mark Simpson Invitational; in recording a 70-73-69—212 (4-under) scorecard, he established three collegiate bests in the process: his best single round score, his best 54-hole score and his top finish in a major tournament … He closed the fall with another subpar performance by posting a 72-72-70—214 (-2) effort in Hawai’i’s Princeville Intercollegiate … He bested that 69 with a 3-under 67 in the second round of the Southern Colorado Masters, where he tied for fifth with a 2-under 211 (71-67-73) … In the fall (nine rounds, 162 holes), he had just one hole worse than bogey.
2016-17 (Fr.): He enjoyed a solid freshman season, finishing sixth on the team in stroke average (74.64 for 25 rounds); he played as an individual for his first seven tournaments, but was elevated to a designated scorer for the last two meets of the year, the Pac-12 Championships and the NCAA Central Regional. He finished 13-over par in both: in the Pac-12’s at Boulder Country Club, he turned in a 77-76-70—223 score to tie for 40th. He was 11th out of the 20 freshmen that competed in the event, and his 70 matched his collegiate best gross score (and was the 14th-best final round score). In the regional at Purdue, he shot a 77-78-74—229 to tie for 49th. He won the Colorado Mines Writz Invitational with a 76-71—147 (+3) score, where CU sent four individuals but did not participate as a team; his final round 1-under 71 was the only subpar round by any participant, which paved the way for him to become just the third player in CU history to win a tournament of 36 holes or more as a freshman, joining Tobias Forsgren (1999 Colorado State Invitational, 36 holes) and Jeremy Paul (2014 Oregon Duck Invitational, 54 holes). In the fall, he posted three top 25 finishes, topped by a tie for 21st in Colorado State’s Ram Masters Invitational (216, +6) and a tie for 25th in Denver’s Paintbrush Invitational (220, +4); both efforts featured second round 70 scores, his best in his first semester as a collegian. He owned a 74.09 stroke average for 11 fall rounds, which was fourth-best on the team.
High School—He was enrolled in the Golf Academy at Sotogrande (Spain) International School (SIS), where he was coached mostly by Mariano Ochoa; he was also coached by Thomas Johansson at his home course (San Roque Golf Club) … The students at the school competed in local professional and amateur tournaments as opposed to the traditional dual matches in the United States … He was on the Andalucia golf team that won the Spanish National State Championship in 2014. He also played soccer and tennis at Sotogrande, which is about 10 miles north of Gibraltar on the southern coast of the country.
Other—2021: He finished fourth in the Copa Andalucia Mascuilina in Marbella, Spain (71-69-71-71—282, -6). 2020: Tied for second in the Scratch Caballeros series at Andalucia, Spain (70-71-69—210, -3). 2018: Tied for 56th in the prestigious Biarritz Cup in France, as he recorded a 68-71-76-74—289 (+13) scorecard. 2016: In November, he tied for ninth in the inaugural Gobbler Amateur in Tucson, Ariz., turning in a 79-70-70—219 (+6) performance at Sewailo Golf Club … He tied for 20th in the English Boys Open Amateur, carding a 74-74-69-74—291 scorecard (3-over); he was one of 62 players to make the cut and finished 14 off the lead (he had 16 birdies in the event at Hunstanton Golf Club … He was 13th in the German Boys Championship (72-69—141, five off the lead) and 14th in the European Nations Cup (La Reserva, Spain), carding a 75-76-72-79—302 effort. 2015: A member of the Danish National A Team … He finished very high in six major European competitions prior to signing with CU, including a second place showing in the Spanish International U18 Championship (79-68-63-80—290, +2, five shots out of first in the 81-man field) … Also third in the Norwegian Winter Open (293, +5) and in the Danish Junior Championship (match play); sixth in the Spanish National Championship (292, +4), and 15th in the Danish International Amateur; all competitions had between 90 and 120 players. 2014: He placed 12th out of 120 in the Spanish International event (74-73-72-71—290, +2).
