Colorado Head Coach Mike MacIntyre
On Zach Moss
Their line blocked well and he ran over us, he was very powerful tonight and we didn’t do a good job tackling him. We should’ve tackled him low in the legs. He ran really well, their line did a good job of opening up some holes and he was powerful.
On The Team’s Goals
We’ll open up every year with the goal to win the Pac-12, if you’re not then you shouldn’t be coaching. I’ll look at it, I learned it from Bill Parcells not to say anything emotion in the moment, I’ll look at it over the next few weeks, a little over Christmas time, I’ll look at it and make decisions from there.
On Not Going To A Bowl
You still want to be in a bowl, you want your name out there. Logistics wise, you don’t have to worry about bowl things like media day and all that. We’ll get out there recruiting starting tomorrow night, we’ll get out there and be ready to go.
On Tyler Huntley
We didn’t find out until we went out there in warmups that he wouldn’t play. They didn’t run as many quarterback draws. They basically do the same thing they always do, they just run Huntley more than their other quarterbacks.
On If He Was Surprised By CU’s First Half Play
I was surprised with the way we tackled. Give credit to Utah, they did a good job with different things they did.
On If CU Players Wanted To Continue Their Season
I definitely think they wanted to continue their season. They played harder in the second half than the first, more emotion.
If he had looked to the right, it’s 31-20, there’s nobody within 20 yards of our receiver, he looked away, scrambled and fumbled. That wasn’t all his fault, but if he looked the other way, it’s 31-20 with 11 minutes to go in the game, a pretty good comeback from 28-0, I thought we came out and fought in the second half with resiliency and fire.
On What’s Next
We have a 10 a.m. meeting Monday morning. I want them all there, I want to say things the right way about each senior in front of the whole team, then we’ll have the banquet Dec. 10.
On Close Games
We were, this game we weren’t as close as we should’ve been, but we had a lot of other games that could’ve gone either way for sure, we just have to get over the hump in those. We did that last year and we need to next year. We’ll have five or six games in a season that will be one score games or one or two plays and we need to make those plays.
On Evaluating The Season
I’ll have to look at the film, look at the season in all phases, that players did, coaches did, I did. You’re usually never as good as you think they are, or as bad as you think they are. We’ll have to evaluate and come back strong in the spring.

On Zach Moss
I felt we fought hard throughout the year, we had some tough losses earlier in the year. We came back, kept on working, we had a chance to go to a bowl game we just came up a little short.
On If He’s Look At The NFL
After things settle down, I’ll talk to my family, my coaches and go from there. I’m sure it’ll be tough. I haven’t thought about it at all, I wanted to focus on the season. I have a great family, I know they’ll be there with me through it.
I was able to focus on each and every game, each and every practice, so the distraction really wasn’t there. Now that’s all over, a lot of different things come into play. Track will come into it a lot. If I do go out early, the track season wouldn’t be there for me. I have a lot of expectations for this track season, a lot of personal goals I’ve set, so it will play a factor.
On If The Buffs Will Have A Good Season Next Year
I think we’ll have a really good year next year. This year felt like 2015, my freshman year, we were in a lot of games but just couldn’t close them out. We all know how 2016 went. We can do the same thing. I’m looking forward to it. There’s a lot of talent on this team and great coaches, as well.
On What Coach Mac Told The Players
He told us to keep our heads up high. Sorry that we couldn’t get this one for the seniors and all they’ve done for this program. We said sorry to them, but we’ll come back and get some work done.
On If There Was A Lack Of Energy In The First Half
I wouldn’t say lack of fire or energy. The older guys, you have to keep fighting and keep swinging. The younger guys have to look at it and learn from it.

FB/TE/DE George Frazier
We just didn’t get it done. We had a lot of opportunities to make plays this year. Lot of opportunities to win games, we just didn’t pull through.
I have no regrets, I wouldn’t change anything. On If There Was A Lack Of Energy In The First Half
I wouldn’t say lack of fire or energy. The older guys, you have to keep fighting and keep swinging. The younger guys have to look at it and learn from it.
TB Phillip Lindsay
Sometimes it doesn’t go your way, you have to go make it happen. You have to go through stuff like that. That’s what happened in 2015, moving forward this will be a great team.
On The Utah Game
It came down to who’s going to be more physical. They came out with fire, they wanted it more than we did.
On His Career
It’s been a long road for us. Everything we went through made us stronger men. You have to get pushed out of the door at some point, this is just our turn. A lot of greats got pushed out the door. It’s just how it goes. Next ones up.
On Next Year’s Team
There’s a lot of young talent and they understand what it takes now. It’s about off season work. How hard will you work off season? Sometimes it’s hard to get the younger kids going, you don’t understand everything you have to do to win games, it’s not all fun and games. You have to come to play every time. They’ll be alright.
On Who Will Replace Him at Running Back
They’re all talented. When I came in here, I wasn’t going to be Rashaan Salaam, they don’t need to be like me, fill my shoes, they need to be themselves, they’re good.
On What’s Next
I need to finish out my school year, get my second degree, then get ready for the NFL.
