Women And Men Remain Eighth and 12th, Respectively, In National Polls
September 14, 2021 | Cross Country
NEW ORLEANS — There was no change for the University of Colorado cross country teams in the USTFCCCA National Polls this week as the CU women remained at No. 8 and the men stayed at 12th.
Â
The Buffalo women had a solid start to the season at the Wyoming Invitational on September 3. While part of the team ran unattached, the team placed six runners, four in uniform and two unattached, in the top 10. The men's team was unable to get their season going with heavy rain and lightning delays.
Â
There was very little change in the national polls. Northern Arizona remained the top team in the men's poll, while BYU stayed at No. 1 for the women.
Â
The NCAA Mountain Regional rankings did see a slight shift for the women as they dipped to fourth below BYU, New Mexico and Northern Arizona. The CU men held strong at third behind NAU and BYU.
Â
Colorado will have both teams back in action this Saturday, September 18, at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
