Buffs to compete in Golden and Greeley this weekend

BOULDER — The Colorado Buffalo men's and women's track and field team is headed to Golden on Saturday to compete at the Colorado School of Mines Kit Mayer Invitational, and to Greeley on Sunday to compete in the NoCo Challenge.

Women's Team Ranked
The Buffs will be the only Pac-12 team competing at either meet this weekend. Colorado's women's team was ranked No. 16 in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division I National Team Computer Rankings that came out on April 9.

On the Weekend in General
"We have groups going to different places this weekend, the throwers are heading to a meet at Northern Colorado and then some of the sprinters and some of the jumpers/multi event people are going down to Mines. The weekend has been negatively affected not unlike last weekend by the weather, and so some things that were planned to be Friday won't be, and that changes our entries some because in some cases people could do one event on Friday and come back and do another on Saturday and now it is compressed."
On Goals for the Weekend:
"This a weekend when we are mostly looking for development towards conference performances, possible NCAA qualifying marks, but in most cases just logical progressions toward being ready on May 5 and May 12."

Competition Schedule
Saturday—Due to high winds expected on Friday, the Kit Mayer meet was moved to take place only on Saturday. The meet will begin with field events starting at 10 a.m. with discus and the track events will begin at 11:15 a.m. with the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Sunday—The NoCo Challenge will kick off with the field events beginning with shotput at 10:30 a.m. and the track events will begin with the 4x100 relay at 11:45 at noon on Sunday.

Live results from the Kit Mayer meet will be posted on minesathletics.com/tracklive. There will be no live results for the NoCo Challenge on Sunday, but results will be posted within approximately 30 minutes of the final event on csurams.com and on directathletics.com.
