Kornieck, Landman Named CU Athletes of the Week, Presented By Arrow

BOULDER – Soccer midfielder Taylor Kornieck and football inside linebacker Nate Landman were name the CU Athletes of the Week, presented by Arrow, for the period of Oct. 8-14.
 
Taylor Kornieck, a junior from Henderson, Nev., scored two goals and added an assist in CU's 3-0 win over California, which added to her goal total, currently at 8 and her assist total, currently at 13. The win set the program record for longest unbeaten streak at 16 games before being broken versus number 1 Stanford. Colorado currently sits 33rd in the nation with a 13-1-3 record.
 
Nate Landman, a sophomore from Danville, Calif., led the Buffs defensive effort at Washington with 12 tackles, including six solo, in the Buffs 27-13 loss to the Huskies.  He had one tackle for loss, another one for no gain, two quarterback pressures and a forced fumble while playing in all but seven defensive snaps in the game.  The Buffs currently sit at 5-2 with an upcoming home game versus Oregon State.
 
Others Nominated:
 
Kirsty Hodgkins, Women's Golf - led the Buffaloes to a ninth place finish at the Betsy Rawls Invitational. She tied for 12th after recording a 3-over 219.
 
Jenne Ewert, Volleyball - She led the team with a .455 hitting percentage and produced six kills while also dishing out 34 assists, 12 digs and four blocks.
