Nayar And Shenault Named CU Athletes Of The Week, Presented By Arrow

BOULDER - Tennis' Sara Nayar and football's Laviska Shenault Jr. were named the CU Athletes of The Week, presented by Arrow, for the week of Oct. 21-27
Nayar, a sophomore from Queensland, Australia, was the ITA Mountain Regional runner-up in singles this past week. Nayar went 5-1 in singles play, falling in the championship to No. 71 Chiara Tomasetti (Northern Arizona). She also partnered with Monica Malinen in doubles. The duo went 3-1, advancing to the semifinals.
Shenault Jr., a sophomore from Desota, Texas, led Colorado with nine catches for 172 yards against Southern Cal. He also added 17 yards on the ground on only his lone rush. Shenault hauled in a 71-yard touchdown pass and also recorded six first downs.

Men's Golf- Daniel O'Loughlin
In the one-day Les Fowler-Colorado Invitational, O'Loughlin recorded the low round of the day with a 4-under par 66 in the morning, one of just two subpar rounds total of the 66 played Monday. He had a bumpier ride in the afternoon, firing a 76 for a 2-over 142 total, as he would tie for second, one stroke back of Denver's Cal McCoy. O'Loughlin had a two-stroke leader over McCoy heading into the final nine holes; he bogeyed 10 while McCoy scored par to pull to within one. It remained that way until No. 16, when O'Loughlin made double bogey on the par-4 with McCoy making a 4 to swap positions in the standings. The two parred out giving McCoy the win. CU's leader in stroke average for the fall with a 70.4 average, O'Loughlin had a team-high seven birdies with 21 pars and seven bogeys, along with that unfortunate double.
Women's Soccer- Taylor Kornieck
Kornieck scored her 10th goal of the season in Colorado's 1-1 draw with California on Senior Day on Sunday. She now leads the Buffs with 25 points this season. It was her 37th career goal, giving her 97 career points.
