Stinson Named To Tewaaraton Award Top 25 List

BOULDER — University of Colorado senior attacker Miranda Stinson has been named to the Tewaaraton Award's top-25 list of nominees, as announced on Thursday.

The Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the pre-eminent lacrosse award, annually honoring the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. Five women's finalists will be selected from this group on Thursday, May 9.

Stinson leads the Buffs this season in almost every statistical category, including points (66), goals (53), assists (13), draw controls (48), ground balls (33) and caused turnovers (22). She is the Pac-12 Conference leader in goals and is second in points. Nationally she ranks 18th in goals and is 39th in points. Stinson is also fifth in shots per game (8.60) and eighth in shots on goal per game (6.13). She is the only played in the Pac-12 to make the top-25 list.

This year's list of women's nominees features players from 17 different schools, led by Boston College and University of Maryland with four each. Returning this year is 2018 Tewaaraton winner Sam Apuzzo (Boston College). In all, eight players return from the 2018 list of nominees.
