Buffs Finish Season Ranked 19th In IWLCA Poll

BOULDER — The University of Colorado lacrosse team earned a No. 19 ranking in the final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll of the season, which was announced on Tuesday.

In total, three Pac-12 teams were in the final IWLCA poll. Southern California was 17th and Stanford came in at 23rd.

The Buffaloes advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season. CU defeated then-No. 18 Dartmouth in the first round game, before falling to the NCAA runner-up, No. 2 Boston College. This was the Buffs' third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in six years as a varsity program.

Colorado finished the year with an 11-8 record and placed second in the Pac-12 Conference with an 8-2 mark. Senior Miranda Stinson led the team, and the conference, with 64 goals and averaged 3.37 per game, both of which ranked 17th in the NCAA. In goal, junior Julia Lisella allowed 10.19 goals per game, which was the 19th best mark in the nation. CU averaged 11.74 goals per game and committed just 13.68 turnovers per game.
