Hodgkins Ties For Seventh At Australian Master Of The Amateurs

CHELTENHAM, Australia – University of Colorado senior Kirsty Hodgkins tied for seventh at the prestigious Australian Master of the Amateurs Championship, carding a 4-over 292 at The Victoria Golf Club, a 6,905-yard par 72 course.

The tournament took place January 7-10 with only the top 25 (plus ties) advancing to the fourth and final round. Hodgkins was in a good position as she was tied for 10th after three rounds with a 218, just two strokes over par.

She started the tournament by shooting a 1-under 71, which included four birdies, and followed it up with a 3-over 75 in the second round. Her third round saw her sink another four birdies as she shot even.

In the last 18, she played another steady round, finishing with a 2-over 74. She recorded her only eagle of the tournament in that round on the 544-yard par 5, No. 9.

During the tournament, she earned 12 birdies and one eagle, while making 44 pars.

Three individuals tied for first, but Alyaa Abdulghany earned medalist honors, shooting a 2-under 286, after winning the play-off. Ho Yu An and Cassie Porter tied for second, while Grace Kim was fourth with an even 288. Min A Yoon placed fifth (289) and Stephanie Kyriacou was sixth (291).
