Postponed Men's GS Race Schedule For Thursday Ahead Of RMISA Championships
February 17, 2021 | Skiing
PARK CITY, Utah – The postponed men's giant slalom race as part of the RMISA Invitational at Utah, originally scheduled to take place Friday, Feb. 12, has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18 ahead of the RMISA Championships here at Park City Resort. Â
One of two scheduled men's GS races took place on Friday, Feb. 12, but the conditions worsened to the point the second race was deemed unsafe, so it was postponed. Â The new race will not be a FIS-U or USSA race, but will count as an official RMISA race and be counted in the team standings to close out the RMISA Invitational at Utah and for NCAA qualification, MVP and official Start lists maintained by the conference. Â
The make-up race will take place Thursday morning and will be followed by the women's GS and eventually the men's GS races that will be a part of the RMISA Championships that same afternoon. Â Additionally, the disciplines for the RMISA Championships will flip with GS races taking place Thursday and slalom races moving to Friday.Â
Those races will conclude the alpine portion of the RMISA schedule ahead of the NCAA Championships. Â Nordic teams will be in Utah next week to both close out the final regular season meet, the RMISA Invitational at Westminster/Soldier Hollow on Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 22-23) Â and compete in the RMISA Championships Friday and Saturday (Feb. 26-27), all scheduled for Soldier Hollow. Â
The NCAA Championships will take place in New Hampshire from March 10-13. Â
