Fans now vote to narrow down the list to five

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Colorado center Quay Miller was selected as one of 10 candidates for the 2023 Lisa Leslie Award the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced on Friday.

The senior from Renton, Wash., was one of 20 players selected to the preseason watch list in October. Players can play their way onto and off the list at any point in the 2022-23 season. Miller and Washington State's Bella Murekatete are the lone Pac-12 representatives.

"For Quay to be on an elite list with those players speaks volumes to the amount of time, effort and energy she's poured into her craft," head coach JR Payne expressed. "She's worked really hard to expand her game. She wants to be great. She's willing to work and be great. It's an incredible honor for her to be recognized."

Miller, who recorded her 1,000th career point last Sunday against USC, leads the Buffs with 14.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. She has four double-doubles this season, including the previous two games. She's eighth in the Pac-12 in scoring (309) and total rebounds (167).

She opened the season with a career-high 17 rebounds against New Mexico State and bested her previous career of high 159 boards last season. Miller is well on the way to shattering her career-high of 330 points scored last season, averaging four points better per game this year. Miller is hitting 51.5% from the floor with a blistering 45.2% from behind the arc this season.

Colorado is 16-3 when Miller scores in double figures this season and is 10-3 when she leads the team in rebounds.
