College?2010-11 (Sr.): He played in four tournaments as a senior, two each in the spring and fall; he played all 11 of his rounds as an individual, and all were between 74 and 79 as he finished the season with a 76.18 stroke average.? He did tie for seventh in the Front Range Invitation, played at Air Force’s Eisenhower Blue and CU’s Colorado National golf courses with a 76-75?151 scorecard, his top finish of the season and technically the highest of his career.? His top finish for the season in a 54-hole event was a tie for 51st in CU’s own Mark Simpson Invitational (77-76-74?227, +11).? In the fall, he led the nation in fairways hit percentage, as he was in the fairway off the tee 76 times on 84 holes, or 90.5 percent; he was also tied for 19th in sand saves, converting at a 66.7 percent rate.

2009-10 (Jr.): He finished fifth on the team in stroke average with a 75.25 number, his career season best; he was fourth in the fall with a 74.55 mark.? He played in 11 of CU’s 13 tournaments, with his top finish a tie for 29th in the Air Force Falcon Invitational (219, +3) that opened the season; it was his best collegiate 54-hole tournament in score related to par.? In all 10 of his other events, he finished somewhere between 50th and 68th.? In the fall, sans one 79, 10 of his 11 rounds were all between 71 and 76. When he led the team in fairways hit (77.2 percent), a figure that was 23rd in the NCAA.

2008-09 (Soph.): He saw action in four tournaments (two spring, two fall), logging a 76.00 stroke average for 11 total rounds.? He played both spring meets as an individual, tying for 63rd in CU’s Stevinson-Ranch Invitational (232, +16), and then tying for 17th in CU-Colorado Springs’ spring meet (155, +11). In the fall, he owned a 74.83 stroke norm, as he tied for 18th in Denver’s Ron Moore Invitational when he played as an individual, recording a 71-72-74?217 scorecard (1-over) at Green Valley Ranch GC.? His other fall action came in The Prestige At PGA West, where he tied for 63rd (232, +16).

2007-08 (Fr.): He had a stellar freshman season, with his 40 rounds played the second most by a frosh in school history (trailing the 41 by Terry Kahl in 1976-77) and his 75.93 stroke average tied for the ninth best by a freshman (the seventh by a true frosh).? He posted nine top 40 finishes, five in the spring, and had 31 of his 40 rounds count toward team scoring (77.5%).? He posted CU’s second best 54-hole score in two meets, his first collegiate competition at the St. Mary’s Invitational (224, +8) and in the final event of the fall, The Wolverine At Mission Inn (223, +7).? He tied for 13th in the latter, his best effort in his first season as a Buff, with his second round 70 his best single round score that he later matched in his second round of the spring in Hawaii.? His best finish in the spring came in CU’s Stevinson Ranch meet, where he tied for 26th (226, +10).? He tied for 46th in the Big 12 Championships and earned a spot on the travel squad to the NCAA Central Regional, joining just a handful of? true freshman to do so in school annals.? In the fall, he tied for third on the team in scoring average (75.80), the 11th lowest school in school history by a true frosh in the fall.? He ranked 32nd nationally for the fall in fairways hit (79.7 percent, which ranked him ninth among all freshmen).????

High School?He had steadily improved his prep stroke average at Westlake, as he owned a 74.1 mark as a freshman, a 73.5 as a sophomore and a 72.5 as a junior.? He led the Marmonte League in scoring average both his sophomore and junior years, earning first-team all-league honors both seasons in leading Westlake Village to conference titles both times.? WVHS was the CIF Division champion his junior year.? He did not play high school golf as a senior, instead choosing to participate in local amateur tournaments as well as national junior events.

Other?2008:? Played a limited amateur schedule due to a shoulder injury, but did tie for 24th in the Southwestern Amateur (300, +12) at Twin Warriors G.C. outside of Albuquerque (low score was a third round 71).? 2007: He tied for 41st in the AJGA ReBath Heather Farr Classic in Mesa, Ariz., with a 219 score; his final round, 1-over par 72 tied for the 16th best score for the last 18 holes.? He was ranked as the 160th player in Golfweek’s Junior Rankings, the 29th player in the state of California.? He owned a season tournament scoring average as a senior of 71.44 in national events.? 2006: He was the first alternate for the Western Amateur, and the second alternate for the U.S. Amateur Qualifying.? He won the International Junior Golf Tour event at Ojai (Calif.) Valley, one of several IJCT tournaments he competed in.? He also had a pair of top 12 finishes in AGJA play, including a 10th place effort in the Mission Hills Desert Junior, where his final round 68 was the low round for the day.? 2005: He won the Junior Tour Desert Classic (Rancho Mirage, Calif.), and was a member of the 2005 United States IJGT Team that also competed at St. Andrews, Scotland.? 2004: He qualified for the United States World Junior Golf Cup team, which competed in St. Andrews as he recorded a 65 in regional qualifying in Long Beach and then a 74-72?146 performance in the national qualifier in Orlando.?

Personal?Born May 19, 1989 in New York City (he is a big New York Yankees fan).? Hobbies include music, sports and cars.? Father (Thomas) is the executive vice president of production for 20th Century Fox.? An uncle (Anthony) is an actor whose credits include the television show Fame (played Danny Amatullo).? He was the first recruit at Colorado by coach Roy Edwards, and he joined some elite company in the process; there has been only one other “first recruit” in the history of CU golf with a full-time coach: in 1977, the late Mark Simpson signed Steve Jones of Yuma (Colo.).? Jones went on to become an All-American for the Buffaloes and star on the PGA Tour, including a victory in the 1996 U.S. Open.
