Career—An extremely accomplished skier, Dietze has raced in 42 of a possible 47 races in her career, finishing all 42 with 41 in the top 20, 25 in the top 15 and 15 in the top five including five podium appearances and one race win. Four of her five career podiums and her race win came in 2023, when she didn’t finish lower than sixth until the final race of the season, also impressive with 11th place at the NCAA Championships. She earned first-team All-America honors and is a four-time letterwinner and named to the National All-Academic Ski Team and Pac-12 Academic Honor roll multiple times.
2023 (Senior)—An extremely accomplished skier in her first three years, Dietze turned it on even more in 2023 putting her best results on snow, finishing all 10 races she competed in and not finishing lower than 11th. She hadn’t finished lower than sixth until the final race of the season, taking 11th at the NCAA Championships in the 20K classic race. She hit the podium two days prior in the 5K freestyle race to help the Buffs maintain a first-day lead at the midpoint of the championship while picking up her first All-America honor, a first-team one at that. She won her first career race, the 5K freestyle at the CU Invitational and was third in three other freestyle races. Also no slouch in classic, she had three fourth place finishes in the discipline, as well. She was named first-team All-RMISA, her fourth RMISA honor and second first-team, as well as the CU Athlete of the Week, on Feb. 5 after her race win at the CU Invitational. She lettered for the fourth time and also got it done in the classroom, earning mention on the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll for the third time. She also participated in the World University Games in January in Lake Pladic.
2022 (Junior)—Dietze put together another solid season that included finishing in the top 20 in all nine races she participated in, including four top 10 finishes and one top five performance. She finished in the top 14 in eight of ninc races. After missing the U.S. National Champiosnhips, which included three races for college skiing including the Utah Invitational, she opened the season at Montana State taking 14th in the freestyle and 12th in the classic race. She was at her best in Alaska, in three races there she was sixth in the classic and fourth in the freestyle as part of the UAF Nanook Invitational and then was sixth in another freestyle race as part of the RMISA Invitational. She took 14th in the classic and eighth in the freestyle race at the RMISA Championships in Steamboat Springs and then was 14th in the freestyle and 20th in the classic at the NCAA Championships. She earned honorable mention All-RMISA and was again named to both the National Collegaite All-Academic Ski Team and the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll.
2021 (Sophomore)—Dietze picked up where she finished in her freshman season and had an even better sophomore campaign. She finished all 12 races, all in the top 20 with seven top 10 and two top five performances. Both her top five finishes were in freestyle, the 5K freestyle at the Denver Invitational where she finished fourth and the freestyle sprint race at CU’s Spencer James Nelson Memorial Invitational where she took fifth. Five of her six freestyle finishes were in the top eight. Her best overall performance was at the CU Invitational, where she took seventh in the classic race. She also had a pair of top 10 finishes at the RMISA Invitational at Soldier Hollow, taking ninth in the classic and eighth in the freestyle. At the RMISA Championships, she was seventh in freestyle and 15th in classic and she closed out her season at the NCAA Championships taking 12th in the freestyle and 20th in the classic races. She earned second-team All-RMISA honors for the season, picking up second-team honors, and was named to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll while picking up her second letter.
2020 (Freshman)—Dietze steadily improved throughout her freshman season, perhaps peaking in the two-week series of races at Soldier Hollow and Crosscut Mountain and earning first-team All-RMISA honors. In all, she finished all possible 11 races with 10 top 20, five top 10 and four top five finishes including one podium appearance. Equally strong in both disciplines, she had two top five finishes each in classic and freestyle action. She led the Buffs in four races and was top three a total of seven times, easily earning her first letter. She ended the season with a stretch of four straight top five finishes before the NCAA Championships. She opened her career in Steamboat Springs, taking 13th in the freestyle and 11th in the classic race there. Shortly after, she finished 22nd in the classic and 13th in the freestyle races at Maloit Park for the DU Invitational. She then got her legs under her for the RMISA Nordic Qualifier in Aspen, getting her first top 10 finish in seventh in the freestyle race and finishing 12th in the Owl Creek Chase classic race. She then caught fire at Soldier Hollow, finishing fourth in the freestyle race and second in the classic race, just 8.4 seconds behind the race winner and earning the RMISA Skier of the Week honor. She continued her host streak in Bozeman for the RMISA Championships, taking fourth in the freestyle and fifth in the classic. She was 19th in the freestyle race at the NCAA Championships, an event that was cancelled shortly after that race due to the COVID-19 pandemic, cutting out the classic competition. She was also named to the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team maintaining above a 3.5 grade point average.
Club—She skied for Pulsschlag Neuhausen Erzgebirge e.V. club team and on the German National Junior and German National B Teams … She has been competing in FIS-sanctioned races since 2015 and competed in 90 total FIS races prior to coming to CU with 77 top 20, 59 top 10 and 32 top five finishes including 23 podium appearances and seven race victories … She competed in the German National Championships from 2016-18 with five top 10 finishes in eight races … Best finish there was sixth, which she did four times, in the 2.5K classic and 5K freestyle races in 2017 and the 1.15K classic sprint and 10K freestyle races in 2018 … She competed in the Youth Olympic Winter Games in 2016, taking fourth in the Cross-Country Cross … She's three times competed in the Junior World Championships and was part of the world championship 4x3.3K relay team in 2018 in Goms . She has three top 10 finishes in the Junior World Championships, taking sixth place in the 4x3.3K relay team and 10th in the 1.4K classic sprint races in 2019 in Lahti, Finland.
High School—She graduated from Eliteschule des Wintersports in Oberwiesenthal, Germany, in 2018 … She earned the Elite Student of the Year honor, the Eliteschuler des Jahres, in both 2016 and 2018.
In the Classroom—She is majoring in Physics at Colorado and earning a minor in Business. She was named to the 2020 and 2022 National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team for maintaining above a 3.5 grade point average and participating in the Regional Championships, and she has earned mention on the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll in both 2021 and 2022.
