2005 Division I National All-Academic Ski Team

This Season ? “Kristin is entering her senior season and was named women’s Team Captain this fall.  She has a great touch on her skis and a natural ability as a ski racer. She had several great results last season and was a constant name in the top ten.  We expect she will pick up were she left off and have a great senior season.”

2006 ? Her junior year saw four top 10 finishes and a top 15 finish in every race she skied, the best season of her career.  She opened the season with a fourth place finish in the slalom at the Alaska Invitational, and followed that up with a fifth place in the GS at Montana State.  She was in the top 10 in both races at the CU Invitational, finishing 10th in the GS and ninth in the slalom.  At the RMISA Championships she took sixth in the GS and 14th in the slalom. Taylor qualified for the NCAA meet, but was one of four women’s alpine Buffaloes to do so.

2005 ? Taylor had top-20 finishes in all but one race, including four top-10 efforts, and scored in all nine.  She opened with 13th and 11th place finishes in the slalom and GS, respectively at Utah and eighth and 16th a week later at Alaska before joining teammates Lucie Zikova, Rachel Roosevelt and Erika Hogan at the Winter World University Games in Innsbruck, where she finished 22nd in the women’s GS with a combined time of 2:15.36, finishing one place ahead of Zikova.  Two days later she finished 29th in the slalom with a two-run time of 1:51.20.  A 25th place finish in the GS at Denver upon her return to the states was her only setback and she closed the season with three top-10 finishes at New Mexico and at the NCAA West Regional, including a career matching eighth place slalom finish in the latter.

2004 ? The most accomplished of the women’s downhill newcomers, Taylor scored in all but three races and was lone CU freshman to ski at the NCAA Championships where she finished 23rd in both races. She christened her collegiate career with an 11th place slalom and 10th place giant slalom finish at Utah.  She would turn in top-20 finishes over the course of the regular season, including a career best fifth place GS result at New Mexico and an eighth place slalom finish in the Colorado Invitational two weeks later.

Club ? Taylor skied to a third place finish in the slalom at the 1999 Canada Games.  She was a member of the Canadian National Alpine Ski Team during the 2002 and ’03 seasons.  In back-to-back seasons she was the overall winner of the Quebec circuit and has a pair of top-10 finishes in both the slalom and GS in Nor-Am Circuit races.

Academics ? Taylor graduated from Royal West Academy with honors and is an integrated physiology major at Colorado with a 3.549 grade point average entering her junior season.

Personal ? Kristin Taylor was born May 5, 1983 in Montreal.  Her parents are John and Joan Taylor.  She has two sisters, 20-year-old Danielle and 24-year-old Andrea.  Her hobbies include playing soccer and taking dance classes.
