2004? The true veteran of the 2004 team, Huberli skied in her third NCAA Championship and picked up her first first-team All-American title, third overall, with a fifth-place finish in the 15k classical.  Two days earlier she finished 26th in the freestyle. She would score in all 12 races as a junior, finishing as CU’s second or third skier.  She opened her third season with a 19 place finish in the classical at Nevada and the next day turned in what would be a season best fifth place finish in the free.  New Mexico was the turning point of the season and her eighth-place classical finish was the first of four straight top 10 efforts, including a fifth place classical and fourth place freestyle finish in CU’s own carnival, the strongest weekend of the season.  She was named to both the Division I National All-Academic and All-Rocky Mountain Ski Association Teams.

2003?The Buffs’ captain and top-returner from ’02 had all but two top-15 finishes in 10 races. In the season-opener, she finished 15th in the classical, but rebounded the next day to take a team-best fifth in the freestyle.  It’s been all but one top10 from there as she rounded out the CU scoring slate with an eighth-place effort in the freestyle in CU’s home meet, capping off a CU 3-4-8 punch, for the most CU finishers in the top-10 in a women’s race since 2002’s NCAA Championships.  She did not enter the Western State Invitational due to illness, ending her collegiate race finish streak at 18 straight.  With whatever kept her out of the WSC meet still lingering at the West Regional, she would struggle to a 19th place finish in the freestyle and 10th in the classical.   She continued to struggle at the national championships, finishing 21st (freestyle) and 14th (classical) at the NCAA Championships.

2002? Like teammate Claire Critchley, Huberli joined the Buffs at the semester break.  She got off to a slow start, with just two, top-five finishes in her first six races.  But she would then go on to pace Colorado to a 1-3 sweep in the classical sprint relay when she and Mari Storeng with both winning the at New Mexico to close out the regular season slate.  En route to CU’s first NCAA West Regional title in two years, Huberli finished second, behind Storeng, in the 10k freestyle.  She was awarded the Laura Sharpe Flood Award as it is presented annually to the CU skier who best exemplifies enthusiasm and dedication both on, and off, the mountain.  After traveling through Colorado, Utah and Arizona with her family, she returned home and went to a training camp with the senior regional team in Austria and Germany.

High School? She skied in sports class at Hochalpines Institut Itan.

Other? Huberli spent three years on the SSGR Regional Youth Team where she finished first, and second a year later, in the relay at Swiss Nationals.  She finished third overall at FIS race during her four years on the SSGR Regional junior team and 12th at Kurikkala Cup Ruhpolding in two seasons on the senior team.

Academics? In her first semester in Boulder, Huberli narrowly missed Dean’s List honors with a 3.446 in-season grade point average, but she followed up her second season with a pair of Dean’s List semesters and will carry a 3.603 cum into the 2005 campaign.  She was named to the 2003 and ?04 Division I National All-Academic Ski Team.

Personal? Born Nov. 23, 1981 in Samedan, Switzerland, Muriele Seraina Huberli is the daughter of Robert and Anni Huberli of Scuol, Switzerland.  She has a younger brother, Mathias (21).  Her hobbies include music, horses, swimming and spending time with friends.  She grew up bilingual and speaks five languages.
