2008: Seay concentrated on the 200 and 400-meter dashes during the indoor season, clocking prs in both. Her top mark in the 200 was 25.67, which she obtained at the Air Force Invite. Seay’s pr in the 400 came at the conference championship when she took 14th in a time of 57.81. She also placed 24th overall at the championship in the 200 (25.84). Seay was only able to compete in one race during the outdoor season. She placed second in the 400 (56.40) at the Potts Invite.
2007: Seay only competed in the indoor season. In her only meet of the year, the Potts Indoor Invite, she set a personal record in the 400 meters with a time of 60.97, earning her a first place finish.
2006: Seay took a redshirt for the indoor season. During the outdoor campaign, she competed in the 100, 200, 400 and 800-meter runs. Seay took 10th at the Sun Angel Invite in the 100 (12.61) and 19th in the 200 (25.60). At the conference championships, she placed 18th in the 200 (25.32) and 20th in the 400 (57.36), both in the prelims. She placed sixth overall in the 800 at the Ris Westen/Air Force Twilight with a mark of 2:41.19.
HIGH SCHOOL: The DeSoto High School record holder in the 400-meter (56.70) is also a member of the Eagles’ school record setting 4x400-m relay team that ran 3:47.64 in this year’s 5A Texas State Championships, coming away with a fourth-place finish. She also owns a pr 24.45 200-m. Nationally she competed in an AAU meet last year in Irving, Texas, running a 4x400-m relay team that turned in a 3.48 finish. With a 4.8 weighted gpa, she is a member of Who’s Who Among American High School Students as well as a National and Spanish Honor Society member.
ACADEMICS: Seay is majoring in integrative physiology at Colorado.
PERSONAL: Dyamond Shykiee’ Seay was born on June 5, 1987 to Warren Sr. (who played football at Louisiana Tech) and Cynthia Seay of DeSoto, Texas. Seay is the oldest of three children. She has two younger brothers, Warren Jr. and Corderius. A former cheerleader, Seay enjoys running, talking on the phone, shopping, going to the movies, sports and is participating in the Read With the Buffs program at CU.
