2011: Indoor: Field participated in both the shot put and weight throws for CU. He PR'd in both events at the Colorado School of Mines Twilight (2/18). He had a throw of 48-09.50 in the shot put that placed him third overall. Field followed up that performance with a mark of 51-01 in the weight throw which placed him sixth at the meet.

Outdoor: Field focused on the shot put during the outdoor season. He recorded the first, third and fourth best throws by a Buff during the season. The fourth best throw (49-00.75) came at the CU Invite (4/9) where he placed fourth overall. The third best toss was 50-02.75. That placed Fields 17th at the Big 12 Championships. His PR and the best throw of the year was 50-04.75 at the Jack Christiansen Invite (4/23). Field earned 10th place overall with the throw.  

2010: Indoor: Field started his career at Colorado at the Don Barrett Duals (1/30). He placed 14th in the shot put (46-00.75) and the weight throw (44-03.50). Field PR'd in the shot put at the Air Force Invite (48-04) and recorded his best throw of 47-06.25 in the weight at the Colorado School of Mines Twilight Meet (2/19).

Outdoor: Field competed in the shot put and the hammer throw during the outdoor campaign. He recorded his personal best in the shot put at the Jack Christiansen Invite (4/24) after launching a toss 49-11, good for sixth place overall. Field's season best in the hammer throw came at the CU Invite (4/10). He placed 28th with a throw of 130-02. 

2007-09 (at Mesa State): Field was a member of the football team at Mesa State. He redshirted the 2007-08 season and was on the offensive line during the 2008-09 campaign.

HIGH SCHOOL: Field earned one letter on the WRHS track and field team throwing shot put in 2007. He placed second at regionals and third in state his first year of throwing. Field also earned second team all-conference honors and was honorable mention all-state. He was a member of the Farmer's football team that won the 2006 Colorado State 4A State Championship.

IN THE CLASSROOM: Field is majoring in economics.

PERSONAL: Michael Patrick Field was born on July 11, 1989 in Wheat Ridge, Colo., to John and Katie Field. His mother competed in track and field at Nebraska. He has one sister, Elizabeth and one brother, Andrew. Field enjoys anything outdoors.
