"With Nicki missing the offseason to rehab from her injury, she is continuing to work her way back to form. Although she is not 100% yet, we look for her to provide us some good options in any our defensive positions and we are looking forward to seeing how she returns."

As a Freshman in 2011

Brown started the first three matches of the season. She recorded a season-high of three kills and six digs against Northern Colorado (8/28) in one of those starts. Brown saw action in 12 matches during the season, but suffered an injury towards the second half of Pac-12 play. She totaled four kills, three assists, 21 digs and 6.0 points for the season.

High School

Brown is a 5-11 outside hitter and libero from Santa Barbara, Calif. She earned two letters in volleyball as a member of the Dos Pueblos High School team where she was named the team MVP her senior year. Brown also garnered first team all-conference honors as a senior and was a member of the second team as a junior. She was recruited by Cal Poly, San Francisco, Nevada and Rhode Island.

The DPHS Chargers finished the 2010 season with a 21-9 overall record and won the Channel League. In 2009 they finished with a school record 33 wins and three losses, winning the Channel League and CIF Southern Section. The Chargers went to the state championship and ended their season in the semi-finals.

Brown played her final year of club volleyball for the Santa Barbara 18-Smack for Jason Dunnelly while finishing first at the 2011 USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships in the American Division.

Personal

Nicole Brown was born on April 9, 1993 in Santa Barbara, Calif. She is the daughter of Pat and Tina Brown and has three siblings, Kelsie, Sammie and Bedu. Her father played football at Cal Poly while her mother was on the volleyball team there. Her sisters Kelsie and Sammie both play collegiate volleyball; Kelsie at Cal State L.A. and Sammie at Notre Dame. Brown enjoys going to the beach, surfing, hiking, paddle boarding, wakeboarding and beach volleyball.

Academics

Brown is interested in communications, but is also interested in public relations, real estate and event planning. She is currently an open major.
