Koch got his first college win in style, winning the U.S. National Championship in the men’s freestyle sprint race at the 2024 U.S. Cross Country Ski National Championships. He also left Soldier Hollow in Midway, Utah, with three other top-10 finishes, including two in races that doubled as RMISA collegiate races.
Koch also took seventh in the men’s 10K classic race, along with his win counted toward the Westminster Invitational, and ninth in the classic sprints race, which was an RMISA Qualifier race. He also finished 10th in the 20K freestyle mass start race, which was a US National Championship but not a college race.
