Ralphie Handler Application
Thank you for your interest in joining the Ralphie Handler team. All participants will be required to have an independent physician complete a physical prior to tryouts. After you submit an application you will receive additional information including the form your physician must complete. **Applications must be received by 11:59 PM MT on October 24, 2025.**
Applicants are required to be full-time students (undergraduate and graduate students are considered) at the University of Colorado Boulder, with a minimum 2.0 GPA, and have at least one fall semester remaining prior to graduation. Students selected to be a Ralphie Handler will be required to complete a medical physical, driving tests, background checks, and dedicate approximately 30 hours a week to the Ralphie Program. Mandatory participation is not limited to times when school is in session. All Ralphie Handlers must comply with academic and program rules of the Ralphie Live Mascot Program and abide by the Athletics Department’s RAPID Core Values:

Tryouts consist of a series of timed 100-yard sprints, max repetition of strict form pull-ups, and various mobility evaluations to determine candidates' speed, upper body strength and overall athleticism. These, in conjunction with the application and a series of interviews are used in the selection process.
