A four-year letterwinner (2007-11), she earned some level of All-Big 12 Conference mention all four seasons: All-Rookie Team as a freshman; second-team All-Big 12 as a sophomore, All-Big 12 honorable mention as a junior and first-team All-Big 12 as a senior … Was on the 2010-11 Naismith Trophy watch list … She is Colorado's all-time leading scorer with 2,185 points, in addition to being prominent in nearly every team career statistical category … She scored 20 or more points in 47 career games, including four 30-point games (a high of 36 on two occasions, including in her career finale, a quarterfinal loss to Southern California in the WNIT quarterfinals (averaged 27.5 points per game in CU’s WNIT run) … She led the team in scoring and rebounding both as a junior and senior … She started all 127 games of her career, a school record, and also still holds the marks for field goal attempts (1,889), double-figure scoring games (111) and overall starts … Her name can be found on 18 CU career top 10 lists, including the three aforementioned plus still ranking second in minutes played (4,202), scoring average (17.2 ppg), field goals made (796) and three-point attempts (699); third three-pointers made (237); fourth in rebounds (997), blocked shots (156) and double-doubles (31); sixth in rebound average (7.9 rpg); eighth in steals (237) and games played (127); ninth in free throws made (356) … She also remains 15th in free throw percentage (.800) … Additionally, her 2,185 points still rank seventh on the Big 12 Conference's all-time list while she also ranks sixth in field goal attempts, seventh in field goals made, ninth in three-point attempts, 11th in starts and 12th in rebounds on the league's career charts despite CU being 12 years removed from the league … . Spears is second player in team history score 500 or more points in three consecutive seasons (‘08-09 through ‘10-11), joining former teammate Jackie McFarland and is also the second to score 400 points in four consecutive seasons (Shelley Sheetz was the first) …. She was CU’s 2011 Female Career Athletic Achievement Award winner at the CUSPY's (CU Sports Performers of the Year) … She was selected by the Phoenix Mercury with the 19th overall pick in the 2011 WNBA Draft, the fourth Colorado player to be drafted by the league at the time (released during training camp) … Played seven seasons professionally overseas in three countries, Spain, Israel and Poland (with five teams: Soller Joventud Mariana, Hapoel Rishon LeZion, Energa Torun, Eisvogel USC Frieburg, Cuidad de los Adelantados), took a break in 2016 and returned to Spain in 2019 and played two more seasons … Returned to Colorado after retiring and works with underprivileged youth in the Denver area … Earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2013 … Born Sept. 27, 1988 in Pasadena, Calif.
