Lisa Van Goor was the first, and only, player in Colorado history to score 2,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds in a career -- men's or women's -- and accomplished the rare feat of averaging a double-double for her career (18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds). The 6-foot-4 native of Yankton, S.D., helped lead CU into the Big Eight Conference in the early 1980's, as the AIAW was absorbed by the NCAA, paving the way for major conference's to sponsor championships in women's basketball. Van Goor was a finalist for the NCAA Player of the Year Award in each of her last three seasons, and was a Kodak All-District selection in 1981 and 1982. She earned first-team All-Big Eight honors in the inaugural 1983 season, and remains CU's all-time leading scorer and rebounder. She currently is CU's Special Events Coordinator and has been active with CU Athletics since returning to Colorado after playing several years of professional ball in Europe.
