She lettered four times from 2006-09, and was a member of CU’s 2006 NCAA champion team … An eight-time All-American (out of eight possible honors), CU’s first eight-timer in skiing … It broke down into five first-team and three second-team honors, with four first-time performances in the Classical competition) … A two-time individual NCAA champion and three time RMISA individual champion … CU’s Female Athlete of the Year for 2007-08 and the Female Career Athletic Achievement Award winner for 2008-09 … She won 24 career races (15 classic, nine freestyle), the most by any skier, male or female, in CU’s illustrious skiing history … Her 11 wins in Nordic action in 2008 (six classical, five freestyle) out of 12 races are tied for the most in a single season in either skiing discipline as well … After arguably one of the most successful individual seasons in program history, Grevsgaard added to her honors as she was named the 2007-08 female Collegiate Skier of the Year by FasterSkier.com … With 24 wins, seven runner-up finishes and three third place efforts, her 34 podium finishes are tied for the most by a female and tied for the second-most overall … She had eight “sweeps” (wins in classic and freestyle) at the same competition in her career, three more than the closest skier to her in CU’s record book … She is the only male or female skier to win six classic races in a single season … Her best “sweep” was at the NCAA Championships in 2008, when she became the fourth CU skier and third women’s Nordic skier to accomplish the double win … With the sweep, she became the fourth Buff to claim both NCAA individual titles since the sport went coed in 1983, the third Nordic woman to do so … She was named the National Skier of the Year, the RMISA Women’s Nordic MVP and was the top seeded skier at NCAA’s that season … After CU, she earned her master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Oslo in her native Norway in 2011 and has had various jobs in both the public and private sectors … She is married (Magnus Aasrum) and has two girls, Marte (6) and Mina (4) … Now just skies for recreation … Full name is Maria Moe Grevsgaard … Born June 18, 1985 in Kongsberg, Norway.
