BOULDER, Colo. -Â The University of Colorado women's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision to the University of Hawaii Saturday afternoon in the final game of the Buffaloes' inaugural season.

Colorado held an early 1-0 lead after a hot shot from forward Jen Almquist in the second minute blew by Hawaii keeper Amanda Paterson, but neither team was able to find the scoring column again until the 79th minute in the game.

From there, it got wild.

Hawaii erupted with three straight goals in a span of less than seven minutes, giving the Rainbows a two-goal cushion with only four minutes left to play. Colorado recovered quickly enough from the outburst to register an Elizabeth Larmore goal in the 86th minute, but Rainbow keeper Paterson deflected the rest of the Buffaloes' attempts, securing the 3-2 Hawaii victory.

"Obviously we're disappointed that we lost the game," head coach Austin Daniels said, "but we accomplished some positive things throughout the season.

"We're looking forward to next year. We'll have a full year under our belts and I think we'll be much improved."
Colorado closes the season with a 6-10-1 record (3-6 Big 12).
