Lappe, Scott And Spencer Named WBB Captains

Boulder - Seniors Linda Lappe, Sabrina Scott and Diana Spencer have been selected as tri-captains for the University of Colorado women's basketball team, coach Ceal Barry announced Friday.
"All three seniors deserve the honor and recognition of captaining the 2002-03 CU women's basketball team," Barry said. "I totally support the team's decision in electing Di, Sabrina and Lappe captains of the team."
This marks the sixth time in CU history that the Buffs have had tri-captains, including 1999-2000, 1995-96, 1984-85, 1983-84 and 1981-82. On one other occasion the Buffs had more than two captains, as CU's first Sweet 16 squad elected the entire senior class to lead the team for the 1992-93 season.
For the third season in a row, Colorado has a two-time captain, as Lappe was also a tri-captain in 1999-2000. She joins Kami Carmann, Jenny Roulier, Shelley Sheetz, De Celle Thomas and Lisa Van Goor as the only six players in CU history to be named captain for multiple seasons.
