Final Stats

- *- Coach Gary Barnett. Finally, after 129 games in Division I-A, Barnett has pulled even with a 64-64-1 won-loss record. He dropped his first three games at Northwestern in 1992 and was playing catch-up ever since.

*- Colorado is now 14-2 over the last two Big 12 league seasons (15-2 including the championship win over Texas), tying the fourth best 2-year record in league history. See list on page 6 of CU's game notes.

*- Colorado has defeated Nebraska two years in a row for the first time since 1989-90; previous to that, you have to go back to 1960-61. NU leads the series, 43-16-2, and now by 23-7 in Lincoln. Neither team reached 30 points today after both had done so in the three previous games.

*- Colorado is 9-3 on the season, it's first back-to-back 9 win years since a three-year run between 1994 and 1996. CU was 10-3 a year ago. The 7 league wins tie the school best for back-to-back years, as CU was 7-0 in the old Big Eight in 1989-90.

*- CU's last win in Lincoln came in 1990 (27-12); Nebraska's dropped just five home games since 1990, with Colorado owning two of the wins.

*- Colorado scored in its 170th straight game today, the ninth longest current streak in the country in adding to its school record. The last time CU was shutout was here in

Lincoln, losing 7-0 on Nov. 7, 1988.

*- CB Phil Jackson. His interception was his third of the year, all three coming in the opponent red zone. He now has five career picks.

*- WR Derek McCoy. He caught his seventh TD pass of the season today, the most since Javon Green hauled in seven scores in 1999. That's tied for the seventh most in a single season in CU history.

*- WR Jeremy Bloom. He had his first career kickoff today, and it went for 38 yards. His firsts have been long ones, as his first punt return (75), kickoff return (38) and reception (94) have gone for a combined 207 yards (or 69 yards per). He is human, though; his first rush on a reverse went for zero against CSU.

*- TB Brian Calhoun. He had a career quarter in the third, as he had 10 rushes for 96 yards and five first downs. Coming in, he had career highs of 8 carries for 23 yards against Baylor, and 27 carries for 39 yards (1.4 per) on the season. However, most of those attempts were behind the second team offensive line.

*- More Calhoun. Calhoun had his first 100-yards game today (20-137); he is now the fourth player on the roster to own a 100-yard game (Chris Brown 14, Bobby Purify 5, Marcus Houston 2, Brian Calhoun 1). FYI-the freshman rushing record is 202 by Billy Waddy at Wisconsin in 1973.

*- CU Defense. The Buffs allowed 251 yards in the first half, including 167 in the second quarter. But in the third quarter, CU limited NU to just seven yards on 10 plays, five of which went for negative yards. Nebraska mustered only 83 in the second half, and limited Jamaal Lord to just 2-of-11 passing in the half (0 for his first 7) for 21 yards.

*- In the second half, CU forced NU into several third and longs; while NU was 1-of-6 on third down in both halves, it averaged 9.7 yards to go in the first but 14.7 to go in the second (12.1 for the game). By contrast, CU averaged just 6.1 yards to go on third down for the game (and just 4.3 in the second half).

*- FB Brandon Drumm. With two touchdowns today, it marked the first time Drumm scored multiple times in a game. Coming into the year, his lone score came against Oregon in last year's Fiesta Bowl. He has scored four TDs this year, and he had a career-high 33 yards today.

*- Fourth quarter rushing: Colorado ran 14 times for 53 yards, keeping the ball for 8:41 in possession time in stymieing NU on offense. That's 761 rushing yards for CU in the fourth quarter this season.

*- TB Chris Brown. He missed his first game today as a Buffalo, after starting all 11 this season and playing in the first 24 of his career. He has the bruised sternum, and he's listed as day-to-day for next Saturday's Big 12 Championship game.

*- Colorado ran 76 plays to 63 for the Huskers, including a 34-21 edge in plus territory. CU gained 159 yards in NU territory (4.7 per), while NU gained just 71 in CU territory.

*- This was Colorado's 51st road win since the start of the 1988 season, as only Miami (60) and Florida State (54) have more. Michigan also has 51. This tied for CU's third largest margin of victory in Lincoln, topped only by a 36-14 win here in 1951 and a 27-0 verdict in 1957. CU's last win here was also by 15 (27-12 in 1990).

*- Colorado had 253 yards rushing, as CU moved to 15-0 under Barnett when rushing for 250+ yards. It was also CU's 16th straight win when winning or playing even in turnover margin. CU is also now 12-1 in its last 13 games when taking a lead after trailing at any point, and is now 69-2 since 1993 when owning a two-score lead at any point during a game.
