CU HEAD COACH RICARDO PATTON
GENERAL-"Tonight was a good performance after the poor game we played at Rice. Tonight was a better effort. It's a good win going into Charlotte playing in the Pepsi Classic."
ON DAVID HARRISON-"At Rice he picked up two quick fouls in the first half and his reaction to it was poor, and he can't do that. Tonight he came out and his attitude was very good. He continues to work on his emotions. He has gotten better at it and it affects his performance and it affects the teams' (performance)."
THE BALANCE AND EFOORT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL-"I thought we did that. We put in some different things in practice to be more offensive...motion. At the beginning of the game it was difficult because North Texas was playing zone. We just need to create more screens and to get Blair Wilson open because he is probably our best outside shooter."
NORTH TEXAS COACH JOHNNY JONES
GENERAL-"We turned the ball over 20 times and we can't shoot 37 percent from the field and expect to win We played hard and we played together but we have our lapses and that will affect us (in future games). I am real happy with this basketball team.
ON FREE THROWS-"If we could shoot more free throws and still hit 87.5 percent then we can win more games, but when you let a team shoot 38 of them and we only shoot 16, then it is hard to win. (Colorado) did an excellent job getting the ball down low. They hit some big free throws."
ON DAVID HARRISON-"Here you have a potential lottery pick in the draft...a guy that can run down the middle and has great hands. He knows how to set screens and can move up to the perimeter, and he is extremely mobile. I assume he is the best big man in their conference. He played very hard and was extremely tough to defend. He hasn't shot the ball well from the free throw line, but today he makes 13 of them. It's one of those things that will happen to good players like him. Fouling him was just something we did; it wasn't in the game plan. We were double teaming him just to limit his touched and keep him away from the basket."
ON FUTURE GAMES-"We have Texas A&M-Commerce coming up and they are not a Division I school. But that doesn't matter because if you are not playing your best, any team can beat you. We are playing at home and in front of our home crown at The Pit. It would be great to get back on the winning track before the New Year."
COLORADO PLAYERS
SOPHOMORE CENTER DAVID HARRISON ON FREE THROW SHOOTING AT HOME COMPARED TO ROAD-"I think the rims seem lower on the road. I think they are nine feet. I don't know what it is. It has always been like that here and I don't want to repeat our performance at the free throw line, because last year it happened were we missed some that may have cause us going to the (NCAA) tournament. We have to win on the road and this upcoming tournament, we have to go out and play to win."
ON HIS 29 POINT PERFORMANCE-"We are just running our offensive game. Everyone on this team has the potential of scoring 25 points and tonight was my turn."
JUNIOR FORWARD BLAIR WILSON ON IF COLORADO WAS PLAYING AS A TEAM-"I think so. When we are winning it is a lot different. Obviously it's tougher when we are not. Tonight's performance was a step in the right direction."
