CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Blair Wilson scored 20 of his career-high tying 24 points in the second half to lead Colorado to a 75-56 win over Louisiana-Lafayette in the Pepsi Classic on Friday.
David Harrison added 16 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks for the Buffaloes (6-3), who shot 49 percent in the opener of the three-day, four-team round-robin event.
Anthony Johnson had 20 points and seven rebounds and Laurie Bridges scored 11 for the Ragin' Cajuns (5-4), who shot just 32 percent in their fourth straight loss.
The Buffaloes erased a one-point deficit with an 18-4 run, capped off by Wilson's two free throws with 1:48 left in the first half. Harrison's turnaround shot with a minute to play gave Colorado a 39-26 halftime lead.
Colorado reeled off six straight points to start the second half, holding Louisiana-Lafayette scoreless for more than six minutes, to win for the fourth time in five games.
Wilson, who was 0-for-5 from 3-point range in the first half, went 5-for-5 in the second half in the first-ever meeting between the teams.
Both teams struggled to 9-of-35 shooting behind the experimental 3-point line of 20-feet, six-inches, including 23 straight misses to start the game. The 3-point line, nine inches further than normal, is one of handful of experimental rules in effect for the event, including a widened free throw lane.
