Women's Basketball's Bjorklund Named Athlete of the Week

BOULDER- Eight games into the women's basketball season, Senior center Tera Bjorklund, has led the Buffs in scoring in six wins, has been named Big 12 Player of the Week, and now has been named University of Colorado Athlete of the Week.

December 9, Bjorklund led Colorado to a 78-64 victory over previously unbeaten Washington. She contributed 26 points and 11 rebounds, marking her second double-double of the season. Bjorklund had 14 points by halftime and throughout the game she connected on 11 of 17 shots.

On the season Bjorklund leads the team with a .645 shooting average, scoring 22.5 points per game, and grabbing 7.9 rebounds per game.

Glean Eddy (men's basketball) was also nominated for this week's award.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Glean Eddy, Sophomore, Nashville, Tenn.

On December 10, forward Glean Eddy shot a career-best 10-of-11 from the free-throw line, helping Colorado defeat its in-state rival Colorado State, 84-78, in Fort Collins. Eddy also scored a personal-best 14 points with three steals in CU's fourth straight win. It was also the Buffaloes fourth straight win over the Rams dating back to the 2000-01 season. Eddy played 21 minutes and made 5-of-6 free-throws in the last 1:13 of the game.
