Head Coach Ricardo Patton On the game--"To be honest with you, we got the Georgia game back. Sometimes you when games the hard way and I thought we did that. I thought that K-State played extremely well and they may have deserved to win the game even. But fortunatly for us we were able to hit the big shot late."
On playing Oklahoma--"It's gonna be a tough ball game for sure. We certainly have to play better than we did here tonight to have a chance, and I think we will. Maybe we got the ugly game out of our system, and I hope that is the case."
On Pasco traveling and having a chance to win--"Not when I saw point nine seconds up there. When they changed the time I thought we had a chance at to least get one off. You just hope that they go in, you don't ever really count on those, but we were fortunate to win."
Sophomore Center David Harrison
On upcoming game against Oklahoma--"I remember the last game against them, it was probably the most frustrating game of my career, the way they played defense was hard and aggressive, but if we exceed their intensity and give ourself a chance then we can pull it out."
Senior Guard James Wright
On game-winning basket--"When I saw him (Pervis Pasco) travel and I saw that the clock was o.k. it was like a second chance was meant to be. I just set a screen and they gave it to me. I didn't call bank, it was all luck. Never in my career, not here, not AAU, have I made a shot like that but it feels good."
Kansas State Head Coach Jim Wooldridge
On whether you thought the game was over--"No, I did not think that the game was over. If you give them (Colorado) two or three shots, they might eventually make one. But you always have to stay in the game."
On the high-scoring game--"We played them, what was it, three weeks ago, and they scored 18 at the half. (Tonight) they had 18 at the 15-minute mark. Transition, putbacks, we can't give those away. Fortunately we found ways to get the ball in the basket. Had we won the game, that would have been the story of the game - we scored over 70 points."
On the legacy the seniors leave--"That's a tough question right now. I know they're disappointed. They wanted to advance. That's a tough question right now. I'll have to evaluate that a week from now."
On the defense of Matt Siebrandt--"Matt is a crafty defender. He can't jump. He's not tall, but he's crafty. He can see things developing, and he did a great job down the stretch helping us get possessions back. That's how he plays defense. He's got some good feet, but he's not tall and he doesn't jump. He's not an intimidator; he's a position guy."
Junior Guard Frank Richard
On your overall thoughts--"You can't really sum up what happened tonight. I don't even know what to say. The ball goes in and you can't look back. There is just no tomorrow."
On your last shot to put Kansas State ahead"One of our options was to take the shot so I took it. But it was our mental mistakes that we made down the stretch that hurt us tonight."
Senior Forward Matt Siebrandt
On your overall thoughts--"We didn't finish our job on time. He (James Wright) made the shot and those are just the breaks that we seem to get. It's upseting to fight that hard and then have it taken away. I guess it is just hard to explain."
