Morandais, Pelle All-Big 12

DALLAS - Junior Michel Morandais and senior Stephane Pelle were named to the second and third All-Big 12 Coaches Team, respectively, announced Wednesday afternoon by the conference office. It's the first conference honor for Morandais, while Pelle was also selected to the conference third team back in the 2001-02 season.
It's the highest conference honor for Colorado since Jacquay Walls was named to the All-Big 12 first team back in 1999-2000.
Morandais, 6'5" guard/forward from Guadeloupe, French West Indies, has led CU in almost every offensive category averaging 17.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. His points and assists average are first on the team. He has led CU in scoring 14 times with nine, 20-point games and currently ranks 20th all-time in CU history with 488 points scored in a single season.
Pelle, 6'8" forward from Yaounde, Cameroon, is the CU rebounding leader collecting 37 double-doubles over his career including 12 this season. Pelle is the team leader in rebounding (9.6 rpg.), while averaging 12.4 points per game. He is the first Colorado men's player to score over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career (1,344 points, 1,035 rebounds) and holds the school record for career rebounds. In addition, he is the team leader in single-game rebounding this season (21), offensive rebounds (10), tied for most defensive (12) and ranks second in school history for most games played (120).
The pair of awards comes on the heels of three Colorado accolades this week with David Harrison being named to the All-District (8) team, as selected by the United States Basketball Writers Association. Harrison is the first Buffalo to be honored on the squad in six seasons. In addition, both Harrison and Morandais were named to the Big 12 Conference All-Improved Teams as selected by sportswriters who regularly cover the conference.
