Carroll Named Academic All-District

BOULDER - University of Colorado senior Stephen Carroll has been named first-team Academic All-District, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Carroll, who hails from Sydney, Australia, graduated with a degree in Business (Finance) and a 3.65 grade point average earlier this month. He was CU's Male Scholar-Athlete Award winner, as he owned the highest grade point average of all graduating seniors, and also was the first four-time, first-team academic all-conference selection for men's golf in school history.
Carroll was one of 10 student-athletes selected to the District VII team, over half of which (six) came from Colorado schools. Three students from Air Force and one each from Colorado College and Denver joined him on the team. Carroll led the men's golfers in 14 different statistical categories this past year, including stroke average (73.44); he finished eighth all-time at the school in average (74.02) and 11th in rounds played (111).
He now advances to the national ballot for Academic All-American, which will be announced June 10.
