MARYLAND TOPS PENN FOR THIRD PLACE

BOULDER - Shay Doron and Crystal Langhorne each had 16 points to lead No. 22 Maryland to a 76-56 victory over Penn in the consolation game of the Coors Classic Saturday night.
Langhorne also had eight rebounds and Kalika France added 11 points and seven assists for Maryland (3-1).
Katie Kilker led Penn (2-2) with 10 points.
Maryland played tough defense to take a 34-17 lead at halftime. Langhorne scored 10 points in the half for the Terrapins, who hit just 13 of 33 shots but also held Penn to 19 percent shooting.
The lead reached 39-17 early in the second half on a layup by Langhorne. Penn got as close as 14 points twice, the last time with 11:07 left on a 3-pointer by Lauren Pears.
Doron scored eight of her points in the final 7:50 for Maryland.
