GENERAL ? “Tonight was a good starting point for us, but we have many areas where we need to improve.”
ON LOSS OF INSIDE SCORING TO GRADUATION ? “
ON THE PLAY OF VERONICA JOHNS-RICHARDSON ? “They sagged off and she went off on them. She has been working on her shooting and it paid off. Overall, I think we had balance tonight.”
CU Players

WHAT SHE CAN WORK ON ? “My defense, especially guarding outside I need to improve my footwork."
Senior Guard Veronica Johns-Richardson
GENERAL ? “It's exciting, we have a good team. We are very talented, but like coach said we have some stuff to work on.”
“People have been too focused on what we've lost not what we've got. We're ten deep, we can go two deep at every position.”

Fort Lewis Head Coach Greg Bruce
GENERAL ? “Obviously CU is an awesome challenge for us to try and match up with size and athleticism. I was happy with our effort. CU shot the ball well from the outside. Looking at their stats from last year and knowing who they had back we tried to take away the inside game first. We know (Ceal Barry) likes to establish that with her triangle offense. I thought we were semi-successful taking away the inside but they beat us from the outside. It's hard for us to guard the post because we're not big enough to put one person on their center.”
ON FT. LEWIS PLAYERS WHO PERFORMED WELL - “I was really impressed with Amy Mohr. She was first-tam all conference last year so we expected her to be strong. We had some other halfway decent efforts. Redfern did a nice job off the bench. We played everybody to get a look for the future. Brown gave us a nice lift too.”
ON MATCHUP PROBLEMS WITH CU - “Nedovic gave us a match up problem with her outside range and Ilic did a nice job. We had to send two or three people to guard their centers because they are so much bigger than we are and that opened up the outside and they were able to knock some shots down. Their offense is designed to do that. They want to go inside and if you go one on one inside they score and if you double team inside they kick it out and as long as they're shooting like that they will be hard to guard.”
