Marcus Hall Named CU Athlete of the Week

BOULDER- Sophomore guard Marcus Hall earned CU Athlete of the Week honors after recording 29 points in Colorado's 98-87 loss to Oregon State Saturday night in Corvallis, Oregon.
Hall had both the game and career highs in points with 29 as he went 12-16 from the field and 3-4 from the free throw line. At one point, the Houston (Jersey Village), Texas native scored 20 straight points for the Buffs, tying a school record set by Donnie Boyce in 1994. In only his second career collegiate start Hall also added three rebounds and four steals against the Beavers.
Hall and the rest of the Colorado Men's Basketball team will be in action tonight when the take on the California Golden Bears in Berkley (8pm MST FSN).
Others nominated for this week's award were Jackie McFarland (Women's Basketball), and Mason Crosby (Football).

In a losing effort to Creighton, the freshman center dropped 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, leading Colorado in both categories. In 27 minutes of play, McFarland added two blocks, and was 9-10 from the charity stripe. The loss dropped the Buffs to 2-4 overall this year.
Football: Mason Crosby, Sophomore, Georgetown, Texas
The sophomore kicker provided the Buffs with their only points in this past Saturday's Big 12 Championship game. In the loss to no.2 Oklahoma, Crosby kicked his 19th field goal of the year, a new single-season CU record.
