
No. 56 Women's Tennis Upset At No. 75 Texas Tech, 5-2

LUBBOCK, Texas ? The University of Colorado women's tennis team lost their four straight and were upset at No. 75 Texas Tech, 5-2, Saturday afternoon in a Big 12 Conference match.
The Lady Red Raiders improve to 6-8 overall and 3-2 in the conference, while the Buffaloes fall to 7-9 and 2-5 in Big 12 play.
It was CU's sixth straight loss to nationally ranked schools this season and drops their record against the nationally ranked teams from Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) to 3-8.
Trailing 1-0 after falling in the doubles competition, CU could only claim two of the six singles slots as Martina Sedivec won her 10th dual match of the spring (14 for the season) taking a straight set match (6-3, 6-2) at No. 4.
Gleisy Torres Torres took the other CU point at No. 5 singles with a three-set marathon, 7-6, 4-6, 7-6. Torres Torres claimed her seventh match victory of the spring and 13th for the year.
CU continues its road tour at No. 46 Denver for their last non-conference match of the spring, Saturday, April 9 for an 11 a.m. start.
