u      Quickly.  Colorado drops to 2-1 for the season and opens Big 12 play next week at Oklahoma State... The temperature at kickoff (86 degrees), tying the 11th warmest at kickoff for the Buffaloes in their history; CU was prepared with 27 cases (648 total 20 oz. Bottles) of water and Gatorade... Miami (No. 12) was the first ranked foe CU played in 2005; the Buffs own an 8-5 mark since 1993 against their first top 25 opponent of a season... The Buffs are now 4-5 all-time in Miami (well, Miami/Fort Lauderdale); in addition to a 2-1 mark against the Hurricanes (9-7 in 1961 and 23-10 in 1975 previously), CU is 2-3 in Orange bowls and 0-1 in the old Blockbuster Bowl.

u      Scoring Streak.  CU did become the 12th team in NCAA Division I-A history to score in 200 consecutive games, thanks to Mason Crosby's 58-yard field goal in the fourth quarter (it is currently the sixth longest streak in the nation).  The list (*-does not include today's game):

u      Late number switch: because WR Reggie Joseph and CB Gardner McKay wound up on the punt return/block team together, and both wear No. 6, Joseph switched into No. 18 for today.

u      Penalties.  The Buffs had the second most penalties in their history with 16 for 104 yards; the record is 18 (for 115) versus Kansas in 1950.

u      PK Mason Crosby (1-2 FG/58 yards) missed his first regular season field goal from inside 40 yards with the 28-yard wide left kick in the first quarter (caused by a bad snap).  He had been 19-for-19 before that kick; however, he bounced back with his sixth career field goal of 50 yards or longer with the 58-yard kick in the fourth; that ties for the second longest field goal in CU history (he owns the long of 60 against Iowa State last year), and tied for the longest in the NCAA this season (with Georgia's Brandon Coutu, who mad his against Louisiana-Monroe last week).  It was Crosby's sixth career field goal of 50 yards or longer.

u      QB Joel Klatt (41-25-2, 228 passing).  He now has 5,376 career passing yards, third all-time at Colorado, inching closer to take over the No. 2 position, as he is just 14 yards shy of Detmer (5,390) in second place.  Kordell Stewart is the all-time leader with 6,481.  He also had the 11th 200-yard passing game of his career, tying him for fourth all-time with John Hessler.

u      Field Position.  Miami started seven of its 14 drives at or inside the 20, bring the opponent total on the year to 24 of 42.

u      Long Play.  The 38-yard pass from Joel Klatt to Byron Ellis in the fourth was CU's longest play from scrimmage this season.

u      Defense.  Miami had 394 yards, marking the first three-game stretch Colorado has held the opponent under 400 since a four-game stretch in 2002.

u      Against The Ranked.  Colorado's last win over a ranked team was on Nov. 8, 2003, when it defeated No. 22 Missouri, 21-16; it's last win over a top 15 team was on Oct. 6, 2002, with a 35-31 win over No. 13 Kansas State.  CU has now lost six straight games overall to ranked teams (0-4 in 2004), and has dropped seven straight to those ranked in the top 15.
