CU To Celebrate National Girls and Women in Sport Day Saturday

BOULDER - The University of Colorado will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of National Girls and Women in Sports Day at the Coors Events Conference Center on Saturday, Feb. 4., with a morning full of activities leading up to the Colorado-Texas women's basketball game at 12 p.m.

There will be a skills and fitness challenge for all kids beginning at 10 a.m. For the fitness challenge, kids will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports with female athletes from CU's golf, soccer, track and field, basketball, volleyball, skiing and tennis teams. Free T-shirts will be given to all kids age 13 and under who complete the fitness challenge.

Following the fitness challenge, from 11-11:30 a.m., kids will be able to meet CU's female athletes for autographs. Attendees who participate in the morning activities are then invited to watch the CU women's basketball team face off against the Texas Longhorns at 12 p.m.

Admission is free to all activities, including the game, for those who participate in the fitness challenge. Participants should enter the Events Center at the Northwest entrance and parking is free.
