Buffs Fall To Tigers To End 2007 Season

COLUMBIA, Mo. ? The University of Colorado dropped its final match of the 2007 season against Missouri 20-30, 23-30, 22-30 on Saturday afternoon in front of 1,512 at the Hearnes Center. Alex Buth led the Buffs with 13 kills in the effort.

Colorado hit .173 in the match with just 44 kills. The Buffs recorded 127 attacks and hit 22 errors. Kaitlyn Burkett dished out 28 assists and hit a team high .571 with four kills on seven errorless swings. Schylur Edelman tallied six kills and hit .455. Mallori Gibson and Emilee Sisco each recorded eight kills.

The Tigers hit .353 with 55 kills. Weiwen Wang led MU with 19 kills. She did not commit an error on 27 attacks and hit a match-high .704.

Callie Webster picked up 10 of CU's 38 digs. Buth added eight and Ellen Henry recorded seven. Missouri collected 54 and were led by Na Yang with 15.

The Buffs put up 4.0 blocks. Buth recorded three block assists. Edelman and Rosie Steinhaus each put up two assists and Burkett added the remaining block assist. MU recorded 13.0.

The Buffs end the 2007 campaign with a 6-22 overall record and 1-19 in the Big 12. This marks the first time since 1986, the first year of varsity volleyball at CU, that the Buffs have finished a season with just six victories.
