Colorado wins its seventh straight game and improves its record to 8-2 overall. The seven-game win streak is the team's best since a 9-game in 2003-04. The 8-2 mark is also the Buffs' best since 2003-04 when they started 12-2.
Jackie McFarland's first two free throws in the second half gave her sole possession of third place on CU's all-time list passing former All-American Shelley Sheetz (1991-95). McFarland finished 6-of-6 from the stripe to move her total to 431.
McFarland had 12 points and 11 rebounds to record her 41st career double-double and 42nd career double-digit rebounding game. The 41 career double-doubles rank second on CU's all-time list and the double-digit rebounding games are third on the CU charts. She needs four more double-digit rebounding games to catch Erin Scholz (1993-97) for second place.
Kara Richards had 11 points and seven rebounds, both season highs. The 11 points was her first double-digit scoring performance since netting 13 against Kansas on Feb. 24, 2007.
Colorado had 13 blocks in tonight's game, the second highest mark in team history trailing only the school record 16 set on Dec. 14, 2000 during a 99-60 win over Sam Houston State. McFarland and Brittany Spears each had four blocks apiece. The four blocks were a career-high for Spears.
Colorado has now held four teams under 50 points this season. CU had held its opponent under 50 points just three times total in the last three seasons. CU's 2003-04 NCAA Tournament team held four opponents under 50 points the entire season.
Colorado has outrebounded its opponents in all 10 games this season and has outrebounded its opponent in 14 straight games dating back to last season. The Buffs have not been outrebounded themselves in 16 straight games (last season's game against Baylor the teams tied at 35 apiece).
Colorado has held its last two opponents to a combined 25 percent from the field (27-of-109).
