Colorado-Baylor Quotes
February 21, 2007 | Women's Basketball
Colorado Head Coach Kathy McConnell-Miller
GENERAL
“The only thing I'm disappointed in, is the outcome. I am not disappointed with our effort. Our post players were as strong together as I've seen them. They did well offensively and defensively we did well against (Bernice) Mosby holding her to 6-of-19. (Rachel) Allison got loose a little but I think that is because of how we played it. Our guards just didn't make all the plays we needed them to make, and if we had Kara (Richards) for more of the night, then maybe it is a different outcome.”
ON START OF THE SECOND HALF
“I thought that Baylor came out really tired in the second half, especially the first three minutes. They went to their bench early, earlier than teams usually do.”
ON THE PLAY OF KARA RICHARDS
“I personally think she's always capable of playing like she did today. This is her first year with me so it is like a second freshman season because our offense is so different from what she played her first year here. I think once she gets a few games like this back-to-back you'll see her confidence go up and that is when you will really see her potential.”
ON BAYLOR'S GUARDS
“Their guards make plays, every one of them make plays. You can't give them the opportunities we gave them and expect for them to not take advantage.”

ON PLAY OF KARA RICHARDS - “I thought that we did a great job tonight of getting Kara the ball on the block, and they did not double team her, and I believe that when Kara gets the ball on the block she can score on anyone in the country.”
ON BIGGEST FRUSTRATION - “Being so close. We had Vanderbilt come in here, and we played them down to the wire. We also had the lead against

ON IMPROVEMENTS IN PLAY - “I think that the past couple of practices we have been focusing on some low post stuff, and with that being the focal point, I think that helped me get my confidence back.”
ON TRANSITION TO NEW OFFENSE - “My true freshman year I played under Coach Barry, and we ran the triangle a lot, and now we are running the high-low. Some of the same concepts apply, but the transition has been difficult for me. I am kind of glad I had last year to get used to it.”
Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey
GENERAL
“We were not good enough. We can't play like this every game. But, it is a win and we have two more games to go. Those two games control our destiny. We're not going to dwell on the negative but we just played sloppy. Altitude also played a factor in this game. We just have to remember that we have two more games to do, and we want to try for another championship.”
ON THE PLAY OF CU'S RICHARDS AND MCFARLAND
“We couldn't adjust for them.
ON BAYLOR PLAYERS
“Rachel [Allison] hit some key baskets. She has a tendency to pull through for us. As frustrated as we get with the way she plays sometimes, she does get rebounds and hits baskets when you need her to. Danielle [
