March 27, 2007 | General
BOULDER - Chip, the University of Colorado's costumed mascot, will participate in the 2007 AT&T Mascot Challenge during the NCAA Final Four festivities this Saturday, March 31, at 12 p.m. MST in Atlanta.
The challenge will take place at the NCAA "Hoop City" fan event at the Georgia World Congress Center where Chip and seven other collegiate mascots, including those of Final Four participants UCLA, Florida, Georgetown and Ohio State, will compete in an obstacle course. The winning mascot will earn $1,000 for its school's Spirit Team program.
Chip is no stranger to competing on the national stage. Chip placed sixth at the 2007 UCA College Mascot National Championships in Orlando in January and was named to the 2003 Capital One All-America Mascot Team.
